Lingerie Recommendations – From a Boudoir Photographer

Lingerie on bed ready for boudoir shoot.

Straight from the sorce: Lingerie Recommendations

Whether you’re prepping for your boudoir session or just looking to feel confident in something new, here are my go-to lingerie shopping recommendations. This list includes both online and in-person options—ranging from budget-friendly to high-end—to fit every style and price point.

Online Lingerie Stores

Savage X Fenty
Budget-friendly and full of personality. This subscription-based brand offers both basics and bold, playful pieces. Make sure to read the subscription terms!

Adore Me
Another subscription-based option with a wide range of affordable lingerie. They often run good promotions and have a solid mix of styles.

Cantiq
This LA lingerie brand creates designs in “straight” sizes, plus sizes, and a new category—genderfluid sizes. They’re handcrafted in the US making them a more eco friendly option, and you won’t break the bank with their mid-range price point.

Lounge
Minimalist pieces that feel luxurious without being outrageously expensive. Great quality and worth the price.

Curvy Couture
The name is self-explanatory. Perfect for curvy and plus-size shoppers. Supportive AND sexy!

Thistle and Spire
A favorite among my boudoir clients! Their lingerie leans darker and edgier—think jewel tones, mesh, and serpent motifs. Mid to high-end pricing.

Corset Story

All things corset! Typically range from $100-$300 per corset.

For Love and Lemons
Feminine, delicate, and dreamy feel. Higher price point.

Honey Birdette
Bold, sultry, and luxurious. Their pieces are high-end and make a strong statement. Best for something more daring.

In-Person Lingerie Shopping (Minneapolis/St. Paul Area)

If you prefer trying things on in-store, here are a few great spots around the Twin Cities

Flirt Boutique

Flirt Boutique
(Edina, MN)
A small, upscale boutique with an inviting atmosphere. Excellent customer service and a curated selection of luxury pieces.

Allure Intimate Apparel
(multiple locations)
Similar in vibe to Flirt, this small business carries quality pieces and provides a helpful, no-pressure shopping experience. Plus-size and curvy approved!

Victoria’s Secret
Classic and familiar. While it’s not a local shop, it’s convenient and often has a wide variety of sizing and styles.

Soma (multiple locations)

Comfort-focused lingerie. Known for soft fabrics, supportive bras, and inclusive sizing. A solid choice for both everyday wear and pieces that photograph well.

Free People
While not a lingerie store, their locations often carry cute bralettes, lacy bodysuits, and pajama sets that photograph beautifully.

Department Stores + Target
Find hidden gems, especially for basics or layering pieces, without breaking the bank.

“But Kyra…I don’t even know what to buy!”

Understandable! Often my client’s have no idea what to wear until we meet for their Style Consult. If you haven’t had your Style Consultation yet wait to decide what to buy until we’re able to talk about the vision of your shoot. If you want some general advice in the meantime checkout this blog post.

Final Tip:

If you’re searching for more unique niche or fetish pieces—especially anything edgy, or statement-making—online shopping or sex shops usually give you the best selection.
