What Makes Outdoor Boudoir So Special?

Unlike studio sessions, outdoor boudoir brings a whole new energy. There’s a rawness and freedom that comes from being surrounded by nature. Whether you’re in a quiet field, along a wooded trail, or tucked away in a private backyard, it feels different—in the best way. More connected, more grounded, more you.

Golden hour—the hour right after sunrise or before sunset—adds an extra layer of magic. The light is soft and glowy, creating a dreamy, romantic vibe that’s hard to replicate indoors. Want to see my Pintrest board for outdoor ideas? Look here.

Choosing the Right Location

You don’t need to worry about finding the perfect spot—we’ll help with that. Privacy is key, so we look for places that feel both safe and secluded. Wildflower meadows, tall grassy fields, forest paths, and garden spaces can all be beautiful options depending on your comfort level.

Some clients want a full nature immersion; others prefer something simple and close to home. We’ll talk through what fits your vision and plan accordingly.

What to Wear

You can go all-out with lingerie or keep it simple with a sheer robe, bodysuit, swimming suit or even a favorite oversized shirt. Soft fabrics like lace and mesh work beautifully outdoors. Neutral colors, pastels, and earthy tones tend to photograph best—but if you love something bold, bring it!

Accessories like hats, wraps, or delicate jewelry can add personality and texture. And yes, barefoot is totally encouraged.

What to Expect of your outdoor boudoir shoot

Outdoor sessions are relaxed but adventurous. You might walk through tall grass, perch on a rock, or lay on a blanket under the sky. We’ll guide you through every pose and make sure you’re comfortable the whole time. This experience is about feeling good in your body, not performing for the camera.

There might be a breeze, some sunshine, maybe even a bird flying by—and all of that adds to the experience. Most clients end up feeling more confident and connected than they expected.

Is Outdoor Boudoir for You?

If you’re craving something different—something natural, freeing, and raw—this might be your perfect fit. You don’t need experience or a specific “look.” Just come as you are, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Summer sessions are limited. If this sounds like your vibe, reach out soon—we’d love to plan something beautiful with you.

What to Bring

  • A robe or cover-up to move between shots
  • Water and bug spray (especially in warmer months)
  • A blanket or towel for sitting on the ground
  • And most importantly: a willingness to be present and open to the experience
