Every boudoir shoot experience beings with a phone call. I’ll ask what you’re looking for in a photographer. We’ll discuss your vision and any ideas you have in mind. I also take time to understand your needs and concerns. Let’s be real—a boudoir shoot takes guts!
Many photographers skip this step and send an email or PDF with their services. There’s nothing wrong with that! I prefer to go the extra mile and talk to everyone who reaches out. Whether you book with me or not, I want to understand your worries, excitement, and needs. This helps me create a tailored experience instead of a one-size-fits-all approach.
Style Consultation: Planning Every Detail
Once we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule a style consultation. This is where we finalize all the details of your shoot—from hair and makeup to outfits. The Day of Your Shoot: Time to Shine
Finally, the much-anticipated day arrives! The good news? You just need to pack your bag and roll out of bed. Once you arrive at my St. Paul studio, our professional hair and makeup artist will pamper you with a full glam experience. You may have already discussed your desired look with them before the shoot!
You’ll be welcomed into a private and comfortable environment. The space will already be prepped with flattering lighting, cozy furniture, and any other details we discussed during your consultation. You’ll have time to settle in, review the plan for the day, and make yourself at home.
With glam is complete, it’s time to step into your first outfit. That first moment can feel like a little leap of faith—“Oh shit… it’s actually happening now.” But by this point, we’ve already spent so much time preparing that you’ll feel comfortable trusting the process.
You don’t need any prior experience for a boudoir shoot with Fine Grain Boudoir. As your photographer, I’ll guide you through posing from head to toe—including your facial expressions—so there’s never any doubt about what to do. Plus, my assistant (always female) will be there to catch any little details I might miss, like a stray hair or an outfit adjustment. We’ve got you covered… even when you’re uncovered.

The Image Reveal & Ordering Session
One to two weeks after your session, we’ll meet again for your image reveal and ordering session. Since all of my packages include a built-in order credit and we’ve already discussed pricing in detail, there are no surprises! My goal is, of course, to have you fall in love with your images and want to fill your walls with them—but ultimately, you are the captain of the ship. I’m simply here to guide you through selecting your favorite photos and choosing the products that excite you the most.
Our journey doesn’t end there. If you’ve selected a product like an album or wall art, I may check in with you to show a draft before printing. Once your final products arrive, I can even hand-deliver your order to your home and assist with installing any wall art you’ve purchased.
From start to finish of the boudoir shoot experience, I am here to guide you through the experience. Taking beautiful photos is the bare minimum—creating an exceptional, seamless, and personalized experience is my true goal.
